“The Damned,” Plasmatics

My parents never had much to say about my tastes in music growing up, presumably because I was a mostly well-adjusted kid. I remember this one rattling my mom, though. I suppose it plays rather tamely today, but this was some really twisted shit in 1982. I still love the song.

My favorite detail about this video is that in a shot or two, you can see the adorable little girl underneath all of the rage and fury of Wendy O. Williams. (She did her own stunts, by the way.) She’s been gone for ten years now. Can you believe it’s been that long?
