Why do I have a bad feeling that it’s gonna be a while (if ever) before we see leaders like that again?
Hey, it took a Carter to get a Reagan. And, that only lasted 1 term.
The depressing difference is that Reagan was already Reagan by early ’77 (don’t forget, he nearly won the ’76 nomination). Moreover, Obama is ten times the orator Carter ever was.
Conversely, the Republicans of early ’09 are utterly rudderless. I still believe it could be Palin in ’12, but she’s got to vanish for a bit for that to happen.
