I thought this was an uncommonly nice note and gesture from my son’s teacher, if (frankly) more than a little forward.
As I was considering how best to reply—conveying appreciation, but also gently letting her know that I wasn’t interested in anything but a professional parent-teacher relationship with her—Lea patiently explained that the note and gift were intended for Aaron, not me.
Ah. Well, that makes a lot more sense.
I hope you had a good weekend.
