National Opt-Out Day (NOOD) (heh) is this Wednesday, November 24. The idea is to refuse the body scanner at the airport, saying “I opt out,” and require a TSA agent to give you a “pat-down.” Please be sure to do it in full view of your fellow travelers, refusing a private area if one is offered.
(TSA chief John Pistole started sounding a little tentative this weekend. Coincidence?)
I apologize for the inconvenience—which, if the protest works even a little bit, is likely to be substantial—to any of my friends who may be traveling this Thanksgiving weekend. Please try to remember the big picture. If this works, it may be the start of what it takes to make it better forever.
