The first full-up Ace Frehley solo album in 20 years, Anomaly, is due out next month.
You can listen to the advance cut “Outer Space” (in eminently decent quality) here. I like it and hope it’s a solid indication of what we can expect, rather than the very tippy-toppiest bestest song there. Other promising inclusions are a cover of “Fox on the Run” (how could that possibly suck?) and a fourth “Fractured” installment.
Poke around that site, too. My Facebook buddy Mitch has a good interview with Ace on there. He says he’s three years sober, all the way back (albums, tours, DVDs to come), and retirement isn’t on his radar. Sounds good to me.
(I’d still like to see him give Tod a call, but I won’t hold my breath.)

Well, he is consistent, instrumentals and mix is good. Lyrics kind suck, but it is an Ace song to be sure.
This actually has me looking more forward to this album than to the Kiss album.

Wow, just heard some of the new songs (Thanx Ace for letting us listen to a couple for free! Smart move, good marketing) and I’m really impressed. Really crisp, clean, and crunchy. Definitely ranks up there with the 1978 solo record, and Frehley’s Comet too. Ace’s vocal range is limited, but hey, so is Bob Dylans! Damn, the guy can still shred on guitar, too.
