Breakout Sunday school activities

As we were leaving church today, our children’s ministries director flagged Lea down and asked her to teach the games station for our rotational Sunday school on three upcoming Sundays.  She agreed, of course.

Now Lea’s very good at this sort of thing and will likely come up with some great activities and games on her own.  But just in case you’re having trouble, here are some helpful suggestions, dearest (feel free to use any or all of them):

Bible topic:  The parable of the mustard seed (Matthew 13:31-32)
Activity:  Which child can drink the most mustard?

Bible topic:  God appears to Moses as a burning bush that is not consumed (Exodus 3:1-15)
Activity:  If we burn a bush, will it be consumed?

Bible topic:  Samson and Delilah (Judges 13-16)
Activity (partners suggested):  If I cut your hair off, are you weaker?

Hey, I’m a giver.

  1. I can’t wait to get the e-mail on what I’m really supposed to be doing. My attention was divided between keeping Aaron from darting out into the parking lot and what the children’s director was telling me. I swear she said something about yoga and animals. That just doesn’t sound right, though. I don’t think it will involve cutting hair, burning anything, drinking mustard or …um… fornification, either. Fortunately, whatever I’ve agreed to do, I only have to do for three weeks.
